Comprehensive Developmental & Diagnostic Assessments
Expert Psychological Evaluations for Children Ages Birth Through 12
What We Offer
Everyday Parenting Psychology offers comprehensive developmental and diagnostic assessments designed to give families a precise, in-depth understanding of their child's cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and social functioning.
Our evaluations go beyond surface-level observations to identify the specific factors shaping your child's development, whether that involves attention and executive functioning, social communication, emotional regulation, or the interplay between multiple areas of need.
Our clinicians use a combination of in-depth clinical interviews, standardized assessment tools, direct observation, and caregiver and teacher input to build a thorough developmental picture. The result is a detailed written report with diagnostic impressions, a specific profile of your child's strengths and areas of concern, and practical, individualized recommendations that families can act on immediately, at home, at school, and in the community.
We evaluate children from birth through age 12, with specialized training and tools tailored to each developmental stage. Infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children are assessed by clinicians with expertise in early childhood development. School-age children (ages 6-12) are evaluated using age-appropriate cognitive, behavioral, and neuropsychological measures within an in-depth evaluation framework.
Types of Evaluations We Offer
Our assessment services are organized by the primary area of concern, though evaluations are always individualized and may explore multiple domains depending on your child's presentation.
Autism Evaluations
Developmentally grounded, ADOS-trained evaluations for children showing differences in communication, social engagement, play, sensory processing, or behavioral flexibility. Our approach considers how autism, anxiety, trauma, sensory differences, and attachment disruptions can create overlapping presentations, ensuring families receive an accurate and nuanced understanding of their child's needs. Focused autism evaluations begin at $2,800.
ADHD Evaluations
Detailed evaluations for children experiencing challenges with attention, impulse control, emotional regulation, organization, or behavioral self-management. Our assessments go beyond simple checklists to differentiate ADHD from other conditions that can produce similar symptoms, including anxiety, trauma, sensory processing differences, and developmental delays. Focused ADHD evaluations begin at $2,800.
Comprehensive Developmental & Behavioral Evaluations
Broad evaluations that explore cognitive abilities, emotional regulation, social behavior, and communication development. These assessments are appropriate when families have concerns that span multiple areas of functioning, when both ADHD and autism need to be considered within a single evaluation, or when a child's presentation does not point clearly to one diagnosis. A thorough evaluation can address overlapping concerns in one cohesive process rather than requiring separate assessments. Comprehensive evaluations are $4,800.
Classroom Observations
When appropriate, our classroom observations provide direct insight into how your child functions in a structured learning environment. These observations can inform school placement decisions, support requests for accommodations, and give evaluators critical context that office-based testing alone cannot capture. Classroom observations can be conducted as part of a comprehensive evaluation or as a standalone service.
Our Process
STEP ONE
Initial Consultation
We begin with a brief 15-minute consultation to understand what your family is looking for and answer any initial questions about the process. This conversation helps us determine whether an evaluation is the right fit and outlines what the next steps would look like.
STEP TWO
Multi-Component Assessment
Using standardized tests, clinical interviews, direct observation, and caregiver and teacher input, our clinicians conduct a thorough evaluation tailored to your child's age, developmental level, and presenting concerns. For younger children (birth-5), assessments emphasize play-based interaction, caregiver-child observation, and developmentally sensitive measures. For school-age children (6-12), evaluations incorporate cognitive and neuropsychological testing tools, behavioral observation, cognitive measures and structured questionnaires to build a complete picture of functioning across settings. Classroom observations are available when additional context about a child's functioning in a structured setting would strengthen the evaluation.
STEP THREE
Review of Results
Once the evaluation is complete, we meet with you to walk through the findings. We explain the results clearly, discuss diagnostic impressions, and answer your questions so that you leave the meeting with a thorough understanding of your child's profile.
STEP FOUR
Individualized Recommendations
Based on the assessment, we develop specific, actionable recommendations for interventions, therapies, educational supports, and accommodations. These recommendations are designed to be shared with your child's school team and other providers, and we work collaboratively with families and educators to put them into practice.
STEP FIVE
Ongoing Support
We provide follow-up consultations as needed to monitor progress, adjust recommendations, and support families through the next steps, whether that involves connecting with therapists, preparing for school meetings, or revisiting the evaluation as your child grows.
Who Can Benefit from an Evaluation
Our assessments are designed for children experiencing:
Developmental delays or challenges in meeting age-related milestones
Behavioral concerns at home or school, including emotional outbursts, withdrawal, or defiance
Attention and focus challenges that may indicate ADHD
Social and communication differences that may be related to Autism Spectrum Disorder
Emotional regulation difficulties connected to anxiety, depression, or mood-related challenges
Questions about school readiness, placement, or the need for educational accommodations or services
If you are uncertain whether an evaluation is the right step, our team can help you think through the decision during a consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Assessments are typically completed over several sessions, depending on the complexity of the evaluation. Most families can expect the process to take two to four weeks from the initial consultation through the feedback meeting.
-
Yes. Our evaluation reports include specific recommendations that can be shared with your child's school team to support placement decisions, IEP development, 504 plans, and other educational accommodations.
-
Classroom observations are not part of every evaluation but are available when they would add meaningful context to the assessment. In some cases, teacher questionnaires and consultation provide sufficient information. Observations can also be requested as a standalone service for school-related questions or concerns.
-
Evaluation fees vary based on the child's age, the provider, and the scope of the assessment. Preschool through age 5 evaluations follow a separate pricing range from school-age evaluations, given the different methods and timelines involved.
For school-age children (ages 6 through 12), pricing depends on the evaluating clinician and the depth of assessment needed. With Dr. Samantha Smith, focused ADHD and autism evaluations begin at $2,800, and comprehensive evaluations that address autism alongside ADHD or broader developmental questions are $4,800. Evaluations conducted by Dr. Wenderoff are priced within a range determined by the scope he assesses as clinically appropriate for each child rather than mapped to fixed categories.
When a classroom observation is paired with Dr. Wenderoff's testing, Hannah Lavan's observation fee depends on the format selected: a verbal feedback observation is offered at one rate, and an observation that includes a written report is offered at a higher rate.
Specific fees applicable to your family are reviewed during the initial consultation.
