Ellie Becker (LCSW, MA) is a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience specializing in working with young children and their caregivers, for a variety of behavioral and developmental challenges related to autism spectrum disorder, trauma, attachment, depression, anxiety and other social-emotional concerns. Ellie works closely with caregivers to help understand the underlying problems, in order to find strategies to address the challenges they are facing. She assesses the child’s individual needs through a developmental lens, including the child's sensory profile, to determine the best course of treatment. Drawing on experience including consultation to preschool and childcare settings, Ellie’s treatment approach incorporates relational, play-based models of therapy that address the goals and needs of the family. Additionally, Ellie is on the adjunct faculty of The Bank Street College of Education, teaching courses on Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Variations. Ellie has received training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Floortime/DIR, and The Incredible Years, and is a graduate of the Anni Bergman Parent-Infant Program. Ellie holds an MSW from New York University and an MA in Child Development from Sarah Lawrence College.
